On October 22, school counselor Misty Wilkerson organized an ACT Prep Extravaganza for 13 Chadwick juniors and seniors slated to take the ACT at the school on Saturday. During the day, the students reviewed basic test-taking strategies and concepts that will be on the ACT exam. Students’ exam scores impact their ability to get into college and earn scholarships, and are also a factor on the school’s own report card from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
Students attended Mr. Walker’s class the first two hours of the day to get a refresher course on the English and reading sections of the test.
Then during third and fourth hours they went to Mrs. Lynn for math prep.
The school provided a pizza party during lunch.
But then it was back to the grindstone fifth and sixth hour, as they crammed for the science portion of the exam with Mr. Duzan.
As a reward for all their hard work throughout the day, Mrs. Wilkerson took them outside for 7th hour.
Mrs. Wilkerson said, “I hope that this review will help them to better their scores on the ACT .”
