A Cardinal Christmas

The last few days of school had a festive air as Chadwick students participated in class parties and holiday activities.

In the first grade classroom, students made edible Christmas trees from ice cream cones and green frosting. Third grade students made Santa, elf, and reindeer masks. Other elementary classes ate holiday-themed snacks, dressed up, exchanged presents, and made decorations.

The annual Christmas program was held on Monday, December 6, and featured carolers, a play, and music from members of the middle and high school band.

Kindergartener Charlee White said that the best part of her Christmas this year was cutting down a tree with her class on Mrs. Marie Day’s farm.

Other students enjoyed the holiday atmosphere, but were most excited about the holiday break.

Prestin Kinyon and Jayden Washington are excited to play in the snow this winter season. Jayden said that his favorite snowy activity was snowboarding, and that he hopes there will be snow during his Christmas break.

Sixth grader Mesa Aldrich is looking forward to spending time with her family this holiday season. “My sister Mariah is coming home from college to spend time with us,” she said, “so that’s exciting.”

Holiday break will begin on Friday, December 17 at 12:30, and last until classes resume on Monday, January 3, 2022.
