Girl Power

All three of the high school cross country girls will be competing at State on Saturday, November 6.

Freshmen Gretchen House and Raeleigh Little, and sophomore Lexi Loveland will run at Gans Creek Recreation Area in Columbia at 9:45 AM.

The Class 1 District 2 Cross Country Meet was Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Clever High School. Gretchen placed second, Raeleigh placed third, and Lexi placed tenth out of fifty-three runners.Their times were 21:37, 21:47, and 22:29, respectively. 

Head Coach Jenny Gardner said, “As a whole, they have continued to improve, and left it all out there to get that qualifying placement.”  

Senior Ethan Williams also ran in the boys race and logged a time of 19:59, placing 42nd out of 105 runners overall.

UPDATE November 8, 2021:

Raeleigh earned all-state honors, placing 15th overall with a new overall with a new personal record time of 21:21.

Gretchen placed 26th with a time of 21:48, missing all-state honors by fractions of a second in a dramatic photo finish.

Lexi Loveland set a personal record of 22:20, placing 33rd overall.
