MTC Math Competition

On Thursday, April 9, 2021, Chadwick participated in the MTC Math Competition and placed second overall.

Everton, New Covenant Academy, and School of the Ozarks also competed. Mr. Blake Davenport, who helped organize the competition and adapt it to a virtual format, said he thought that it went very well overall. The competition was different from past years because the tests had to be administered and graded at each participating school.

Mr. Davenport said students, who had been meeting each week after school to study for the event for most of the school year, were well prepared.

Chadwick placed first among the conferences non-private schools, and celebrated many individual successes.

Seventh graders Mackenzie Wall, Ella Herd, and Madison Layman swept their division placing first, second, and third respectively.

In eighth grade, Luke Lorenz placed first and Gretchen House and Katie Jackson tied for second.

In the high school, freshman Sierra Jackson placed first overall for Algebra I. While sophomore Hailey Beck and junior Bianca Mitchell placed fourth and fifth in Algebra II.
