Qualifying members of the Chadwick Track Team competed at the sectional track meet hosted at Ozark High School today.
Junior Kayla Loveland placed 6th in the long jump, just two places shy of state qualification.
Freshman Evan Smith placed 3rd in the 1600-meter run, which qualified him for the State competition, and 5th overall in the 800-meter.
The team was accompanied by Coach Jenny Gardner and Assistant Coach Hailey Stevens.
Coach Gardner said, “They really did a great job, especially given the tough competition today. We were so thankful to all of the Chadwick Cardinal fans that came out to support our track and field team today! You all rock!”
Evan will be running in the State 1600-meter race at Jefferson City High School in Jefferson City next Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 12:30.
UPDATE: Evan finished in the 8th spot with a time of 4:43.36.
