Two athletes, freshman Evan Smith and junior Kayla Loveland, will be advancing to compete in the Sectional Meet next Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Ozark.
Kayla Loveland placed fourth overall in the long jump and seventh in the 200-meter dash. Her sister, freshman Taylor Loveland, placed eighth in the 300-meter hurdles. Freshman Bri Esline placed ninth in the long jump and eighth in the 400-meter.
Evan Smith was the Class 1 District 4 Champion in the 1600-meter and 800-meter races, and junior Gavin Herd placed sixth and seventh overall in those races as well.
Sophomore Trenton Massey placed sixth overall in the high jump and thirteenth overall in the 400-meter dash. Freshman Brandyn Wiles placed tenth in the discus and fourteenth in the shot-put. Trenton and Brandyn also each competed in the long jump, placing thirteenth and fifteenth respectively.
It was a great day for a young track and field program at Chadwick High School. If you have a chance, come out and support Evan and Kayla this weekend as they attempt to qualify for State Competition.
