Chadwick’s Own PBR World Champion

On October 27, 2012, Clayton Garrison flew to Las Vegas to compete in the mutton busting at the PBR World Finals.

Clayton said it was his first time flying in an airplane and he enjoyed it.

When Clayton and his mother arrived in Las Vegas, they went to the Thomas and Mack Center where he suited up and got ready to ride. In addition to his vest, blue jeans, chaps, and boots, he wore a protective helmet.

Clayton rode his first sheep the full eight seconds and got a high enough score to put him into the finals, where he had to ride again.

When he climbed on his second and final sheep, he managed not only to stay on the full time, but also got the highest score and was named the Champion Mutton Buster at the PBR World Finals.

He received a belt buckle with a sheep on it and a savings bond for $10,000.

Clayton said that when he gets older, he’d like to go back to the World Finals and compete again as a bull rider.
