Chess Tournament!

On Tuesday, October 30, 2012, the high school chess team traveled to Bradleyville for the annual Mark Twain Conference Chess Tournament.

Alex Hicks said his favorite part of the tournament was “having new chess opponents.”

At the end of the day, the team took home a 2nd place trophy, and Guy Weagley took home an individual 3rd place trophy.

When asked about the tournament, Sydney Guardiola said, “I like winning, and I was glad that we came home with a second place trophy.”

Seniors Jordan Gilbert and Matt Wheelock agreed that the tournament was a good start to the year and said that the team was excited for the year ahead of them.
