NHS Blood Drive

On September 10, 2012, the NHS hosted the community blood drive. This years theme was The Donor Games, based off the young adult series and film The Hunger Games.

Only eighteen people donated in all. NHS sponsor Mrs. Linda Tankersly said the number of donors was at an all-time low since she started helping host the event, but that she still considered the drive a success because they helped secure enough blood to save around 50 lives.

Junior Kallie Bilyeu said that more people gave blood than she expected, considering many students were ineligible to give due to a volleyball game that night and a cross country meet the next day.

Donated blood will be sent to area hospitals where it will be used to help save lives for people in the Ozarks.
