Volleyball Season Begins with a Win

The first volleyball game of the season on September 4 against the Niangua Cardinals started at 6:00 pm with the JV playing first. Niangua got the first serve for JV. The girls fought hard, but couldn’t pull off the win, with a score of 18-25 in both the first and second sets.

The varsity team got off to a rough start with a score of 12-25 in the first set, but they came back with scores of 25-20 and 25-23 in the second and third sets respectively.

All-district senior Kelsey Ruhland wasn’t able to play because she didn’t have enough practices in, but hopes to in time forĀ  the next game. Coach Hyde said he believes she will contribute to the team’s future success, but was proud of his team for their win.
