‘Tis the Season

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: basketball season.

The Lady Cardinals defeated the hosts, 43-16, to place first in the Fordland Tournament after obliterating School of the Ozarks, 50-9, and Hartville, 35-6.

Sophomores Kerrigan Guerin and Raeleigh Little were a part of the all-tournament team and Raeleigh was named the tournament MVP.

Meanwhile, the boys’ team competed in the 51st Annual Morrisville Tournament. They began with victories against Walnut Grove, 61-31, and Morrisville, 39-19, but lost to Ash Grove in the championship game, 47-37.

Head coach Shawn Guerin said, “Both teams have been working hard all season. If they keep it up, the sky is the limit.”

The girls’ team includes seniors Chloe Burkhart, Cora Michael, and Maddie Nalley; junior Hope Cover; sophomores Millie Burkhart, Emma Finney, Kerrigan Guerin, and Raeleigh Little; and freshmen Ella Herd and Kassity Rogers.

The boys’ team includes senior Clayton Rains; juniors Grady Preston and Trenton Sanders; sophomores Isiah Dewitt, Clayton Garrison, and Tristan Smith; freshmen Connor Cantrell, Remmy Daugherty, Ethan Loveland, and Kevin Sisco.
