Junior High Basketball Is on a Roll

The boys and girls basketball teams look forward to finishing their winning seasons strong.

On September 14, 2019, the Chadwick Junior High girls basketball team took first place in the Mark Twain Conference Tournament.

They easily defeated each of the three teams they played, including Hurley, whom they beat 44 to 12 in the championship.

Coach Shawn Guerin said, “It was exciting for them. They worked hard and they deserved it.”

The girls have won every game they’ve played so far, earning them a 12-0 record.

The boys team has also been having a great season with a record of 10-2 with both losses against Niangua.

As the season progresses, Coach Guerin hopes to help both the girls and the boys get “better and better” and “prepare them for the next level.” He said they already have several strengths on the court, including speed, knowledge, and work ethic, but will continue to work on offensive and defensive fundamentals.

Both teams still have a few more games left this season, including an ongoing tournament at Fordland and a game against Bradleyville on October 15.

Coach Guerin said that “each team they play is different, and they look forward to the challenge.”
