The district meet for cross country was held Saturday, October 31 at Southwest Washburn.
Freshmen Evan Smith placed 7th and junior Gavin Herd placed 8th. They will advance to the state championship meet scheduled for Saturday, November 7 at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City.
Senior John Hicks set a new PR for the season and narrowly missed qualifying for state, placing 23rd overall.
Coach Jenny Gardner was very pleased with the performance by all her runners. “The boys ran a strong race given the rainy and muddy conditions,” she said. ” They left nothing behind.”
