Hailey talked to the Christian County Headliner about her return to State:
Chadwick’s Hailey Stevens earned a top-25 finish in the girls Class 1 race in her second trip to state. The sophomore finished ninth place in her freshman season, so was satisfied with another top-tier finish, but dismayed at a lower result a year later.
“I got ninth last year, so I was excited for myself that I got in the top 25,” Stevens said, “but I was disappointed that I didn’t do as well as last year.”
Stevens’ time of 22:41.99 was just around a minute slower than her previous time at state and the Lady Cardinal said there’s plenty of room for improvement heading into her junior season.
“I’d like to improve my state time and definitely be above 25th next year,” she said.
